Biography
Rick Pantera originated as the character role of a Rock Star from the 1991 full length, award winning satire entitled, “Head Bangers which spoofs the Hollywood Heavy Metal music scene, and won the 1992 Gay Erotic Video Award for “Best Sex Comedy.”
Advocate Magazine commissioned this actor to portray the character again in a special publication entitled, “XX-Men #2. Advocates XX-Men #2 featured the actor on the cover of the magazine which, was in fact, a spinoff from the award winning film Head Bangers. The entire content of the magazine followed Rick Pantera and his entourage around Los Angeles capturing exclusive photographs, private moments and erotic images of the star in the recording studio and stretch limousine, amongst other locations.
Simultaneous to the production of XX-Men #2 The Advocate also commissioned “Rick Pantera the interview,” entitled “Major Meat” which was published in the Advocate’s Freshmen magazine on June 1993. Simultaneous to the “interview of Rick Pantera,” The Advocate Magazine also retained the actor to appear nude in the 1993 Men Calendar and The Advocate’s Men magazine published March of 1993.
Negotiations for The Advocate still photo shoots were part of a “Fame Contract” orchestrated by Producer John Summers involving three contiguous weeks of magazine shoots, video shoots for adult films and still photo sessions which are believed to be for the Cover of Black All-American 2 published in 1992 by Black Knights Video, the Cover of Stripped Down published in 1993 by HIS Video, the Cover of White Spy published in 1993 by F.C. Thorman Productions, the Cover of Stripped Down published in 1993 by HIS Video, the Cover of Men of Color published in 1993 by Vizuns Video, Morning Ritual 2 published in 1992 by John Summers Productions, Private Dancer (filmed in the popular los angels night club named Arena) published in 1993 by Mustang Studios and Razor Close published in 1992 by HIS Video.
The last obligation of the contract was a Foot Fetish film simply entitled “Foot Fetish” published in 1992 by Foot Work Studios. This “Fame Contract” constituted the largest launch of any male actor in the history of adult entertainment ultimately making him the highest paid male performer in the industry and known simply by the name “Rick Pantera”
The actor from Head Bangers performed under the name Rick Pantera on the Robin Byrd Show seen on channel 35 New York City Times Warner’s Cable vision, an off Broadway All Male Review in New York City, large Circuit Parties, gay bars, and night Clubs around the USA & Canada.

Thorman Productions, Black Draft published in 1993 by Catalina Video, his self titled film “Pantera’s Pleasure Party” published in 1993 by Rosebud Male, and Club Pleasure published in 1994 Bacchus Releasing.
In 1999 Rick Pantera resurfaced on MTV giving Glen Humplic an (up-close and personal) surprise performance on the Tom Green Show.
In 2003 Titan Media Production attempted to revamp the character in the films, Carny, Service Trade, and Rising Sun utilizing a actor previously known as “Eduardo Cortez” causing internet inaccuracies regarding this actor who created and performed the reoccurring role from 1988 - 1994.
